Malaysia's 50th Birthday

I've always heard couples going to Putrajaya to take wedding pictures, but celebrating birthday there is certainly out of norms.

It was August 30th, the eve of Malaysian's Independent Day, where the hyper-active and exciting colleagues of mine, which was around TWENTY FIVE of us (no kidding), has already planned for the night's event few weeks before, to celebrate Malaysians' big day and some of our Birthdays.

As we could foresee the jam and the crowds gathering at the same place for the countdown, we decided to reach Putrajaya (Cyberjaya to be specific) just after work and arrived at about 7:30 pm. There were already a few people with gigantic camera and tripods guarding some feng-shui spots to take the best shot of the fireworks when we arrived.

I know it sounds crazy being in a place 4.5 hours prior to the event, but it was definitely a good choice, as we could occupy one of the best location to view the fireworks.

Don't ask us how we could manage to kill that 4.5 hours cause we have well planned the whole night and none of us should ever get bored while waiting for the countdown.

Our preparation included the 100 pieces of F1 posters (thanks to SohHong-the-TicketCharger) laid on the ground...

We brought more than enough food (Pizza, KFC, Nuggets, etc) for everyone of us throughout the night...

We provided entertainment such movies from the notebook, and poker and beer...

If all the above entertainment does not suit you, it's awesome simply by sitting around looking at the spectacular lightings from the bridge and buildings...

Before the midnight struck, we celebrated 3 birthdays at one time...

Me : 5th Sept
Janet-the-PeopleGirlfriend : 31st August
Calvin-the-Seriously : 1st Sept

On the very 1st second of the next day, the 20 minutes fireworks from the Japan team lighted up the whole Putrajaya...

Seeing a heart-shape fireworks is something normal these days, but the Japan team came out with a Smiley face fireworks, which was my first time experiencing it.

After the whole gala fireworks was over, we grabbed some passer-by with the Jalur Gemilang to take a group picture with us...

Now that's what I call patriotic!

The whole Cyberjaya turned out to be a massive rubbish dump after the event, but the civilised and literate citizens we are, cleaned up our place after the show and kept a picture as a proof...

The jam, again started after the fireworks where the cars were not at all moving (not even an inch)!

Jam was so horrible that we could even walk faster than Mike-the-YeryLong's FTO...

Sport car crawling like a tortoise, huh??!!

To avoid the jam, we stayed at the place longer till the cars were all gone.

So what to do in a boring town of Cyberjaya at past midnight?

1. Taking picture of the cars running still on the highway...

2. Cam-whoring with the bridge...

3. Putting up non-profitable Calsberg advertisement...

And we left the place when the place was almost empty. Wanted to go to One Utama shopping for the midnight sales, but everyone was pretty tired that we headed straight home and Zzzzz...
